Week 02 · Slow

Slow.

Week 2 of the journal slows the movement down. Not so you throw slowly in a game, but so you have long enough to feel something that normally happens too fast to catch. These articles follow that idea in order: how slow is slow enough before the throw stops being a throw, what the body needs in order to learn from it, and the drill that puts it on the terrain. Read them in order the first time; after that, each stands on its own.

Read in order
  1. Deeper dive Week 2: Slowness. Slow Enough to Notice, Normal Enough to Play 29 June 2026 · 11 min A deeper review of Week 2 Slow Arm practice: how slowing the throw helps you feel more, judge less, and return to normal speed.
  2. Deeper dive Give the Body Something to Learn 24 July 2026 · 7 min Why a coaching cue only becomes useful once it points back to something you have actually felt in the throw.
  3. Drill The Late Release Drill 24 August 2026 · 8 min A solo pétanque drill: throw over a reference point in the air at half speed, then at your own rhythm, and find out what carried across.

Slow is Week 2 of the printed journal’s six-week cycle.
